The information contained herein is structured in a logical sequence to first introduce the reader to what spiritual warfare is and the foundational principles and assumptions upon which it rests. (chapters 1&2). Secondly, instructions are given on how to prepare for the counseling sessions, including the processing of the inventory questionnaire (chapter 3). Fourthly, an overview is provided to explain the basic counseling procedures to follow and what to expect along the way (chapters 4,5). And fifthly, a very detailed roadmap for the entire process is provided (chapter 6) to give a new counselor confidence until he/she feels comfortable navigating on their own. Forms/Templates are used to greatly simplify the gathering of valuable information.(chapter 7).
Suggested prayers for use at designated milestones of the counseling sessions are grouped together in chapter 8. Using the exact wording in these prayers is inconsequential; however, these prayers have been refined over the years to optimize their thoroughness and effectiveness to make sure all bases are covered. The power in these prayers does not come from simply reciting them but rather from a heart that affirms the sanctity and the content of the requests presented before God.
There will be times during the counseling process when the sword of the spirit, the word of God, will be needed for demonic and rebellious alter confrontations. Chapter 9 consists of an alphabetized topical list of scriptures for that purpose. I have found that the scriptures referencing forgiveness and the scriptures regarding the authority of Christ to be especially helpful.
Chapter 10 contains various topics of background information that were developed to meet common needs that have arisen in the counseling process. It would be beneficial for the counselor to read and digest this information prior to ministry so that it can be drawn upon at an appropriate time in the counseling process. The topic that I found to be especially helpful is the one concerning Acceptance.
Many books have been written about topics associated with spiritual warfare but only a few stand out as extremely helpful to me over the years. I assembled a list of the best ones as a reference.
May this information bring honor and glory to our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the author and finisher of our faith.
“…looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of [our] faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of G God.” Hebrews 12:2

ABOUT THIS MINISTRY
As we close in on the last days before the return of our Lord Jesus Christ and as evil ramps up its outreach in the world, the need for confronting the attacks by the enemy against our minds, our decisions in life, and our emotional well-being appears to be growing exponentially as well. But unfortunately, this war against the souls of God’s people is generally not sufficiently engaged by local church ministries and as a result, the body of Christ has suffered needlessly because of it. Although there are counselors who minister to those in spiritual bondage, some of the methods and assumptions used in this area of Christian counseling are questionable at best, and could possibly complicate or hinder the pathway toward healing.
Before you read further, I think it appropriate to briefly introduce myself and mention something of my background. I am a retired Electrical Engineer who worked for over 40 years in the petrochemical industry designing electrical infrastructure for refineries and chemical plants worldwide. I received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior at the age of 18 and have been married for over 40 years to the great love of my life. We have 3 grown sons, all saved and serving the Lord in some capacity. I served as a deacon in a Baptist church for over 30 years.
I am not an accredited or credentialed counselor. My credentials consist of my born-again faith in the saving work of the Lord Jesus Christ, my understanding and application of God’s Holy Word, and the knowledge and counseling experience I gained from being personally mentored by the reverend Dr. Joe Allbright, who is one of many pioneers in the field of spiritual warfare counseling.
I met Dr. Joe Allbright over 30 years ago when I was referred to him for counseling by my pastor. We subsequently became personal friends and I followed his ministry over the next several years. Many of those helped by Dr. Allbright’s ministry were referred to him by other counselors who were unable to help their clients. During that time, I became more aware of many tormented, desperate people who were only one counselor away from giving up on life. Many of those who were ministered to by Dr. Allbright experienced from the Lord miraculous inner healing and release from spiritual bondage.
About 15 years ago, I was unexpectedly approached by a steady stream of individuals asking me to give them some counsel regarding very serious emotional and psychological issues they were facing. In each case, there appeared to be some sort of demonic involvement. As a result of Dr. Allbright's mentoring me and applying the principles and protocols detailed in his two books titled Liberating the Bruised and More Tools for Liberating The Bruised, I had the great privilege of seeing miraculous emotional healing take place in the lives of many.
This manual is in no way intended to replace, refute, or supersede Dr. Allbright’s pioneering work, but rather to supplement and expand understanding and competence in this form of counseling that I have gained through the last 15 years. There is generally little or no training available for this category of counseling at mainstream seminaries. Therefore, those who recognize the need for this area of ministry must rely on the knowledge, experience, and integrity of those in the trenches of actual counseling experience. I have done my utmost best to simplify the information gathering and processing needed for use in counseling by developing standardized forms and procedural flow sheets. All of that information is in this manual.
It is my earnest desire that what I have learned from my research, counseling experience, and mentoring by Dr. Allbright et.al. will not be lost after my passing. It would bring me great joy to know that someone chosen by the Lord would someday discover and use this manual to carry the torch of light and freedom to individuals desperate to be free. It is for this reason and this reason alone that this manual was prepared and made available. Dr. Allbright, has since been called home to be with the Lord, but he has left a rich legacy in the lives of those who were impacted by his ministry and especially by those who had the privilege of calling him “friend”.
This area of counseling is unfortunately a very controversial subject among even godly leaders in the church. So In order to address two of the most common concerns that many have, I would suggest that you read two excerpts from this manual prior to devoting yourself to detailed study of the material :
Appendix B “Can A Christian Be Demon Possessed?”
2. CHAPTER 2, sect. 2.09 “How Do You Determine What Is True To God’s Word Regarding Spiritual Warfare If The Bible Doesn’t Specifically Address it.
